Join us at Koffler Arts for this all-night celebration of contemporary art! Explore our newest exhibitions, stop by our cash bar for a beverage and snack, and discover additional art installations throughout the Youngplace building.

Kamiphony | Cybèle Young

Created in conjunction with Nuit Blanche’s theme, Tomorrow’s Memories, Kamiphony by Cybèle Young fills the Koffler Gallery with a constellation of small kinetic paper machines—delicate, useless devices that flicker, tremble and trip in shifting patterns. Each machine performs a small repetitive action, producing simple rhythms that gather into a living sonic landscape–part offering, part experiment, part mischievous orchestra. The installation imagines the rituals performed by these machines as a rehearsal for the future, deeply embedded in seemingly timeless, yet absurd, gestures and actions. Through cycles of motion, humour and futility, Kamiphony invites visitors into a space where memory is being composed in real time–or at least into a field of small, clumsy wonders where memory is being cobbled together.

Lessons in Objectology | Gord Peteran

Continue your Nuit Blanche visit upstairs at Koffler301, where you can explore Lessons in Objectology by Gord Peteran. Peteran transforms familiar objects and materials into inventive artworks that blur the boundaries between furniture, sculpture, craft and contemporary art. His playful juxtapositions invite us to look again at the things around us—and consider the strange, symbolic and sometimes unsettling relationships we develop with everyday objects.

For Nuit Blanche, Koffler301 will be open from 7 p.m. to 1 a.m., giving visitors the opportunity to experience Peteran’s exhibition alongside Kamiphony.
