Gord Peteran

Koffler Arts welcomes Gord Peteran to Koffler301 for an exhibition curated by Adjunct Curator David Liss.

Toronto sculptor Gord Peteran has exhibited and lectured extensively throughout North America.His work is held in many private and public collections, including the Museum of Fine Arts Boston, the Peabody Essex Museum in Salem, the Milwaukee Art Museum in Wisconsin, the Museum for Art in Wood in Philadelphia, the Yale University Art Museum in Connecticut, The Royal Ontario Museum in Toronto, The Canadian Museum of History and the University of Toronto Art Museum.

While a professor at the Ontario College of Art and Design University for 30 years, Peteran has also taught at The California College of Arts, Sheridan College in Oakville and the Rhode Island School of Design in Providence.

Gord is a member of the Royal Canadian Academy of Arts and has received numerous Government Arts Council grants and awards throughout his career including the Jean A. Chalmers Award.

Curator Dr. Glenn Adamson while at the Victoria and Albert Museum toured a mid career retrospective on Peteran to nine museums across the United States. Four catalogues have been published on his work.
