Celebrating its first anniversary, WORLD PLAY continues to bring together Toronto’s extraordinary linguistic and cultural diversity. As curator Alon Nashman describes it, the series celebrates the many languages woven into the fabric of everyday life. From conversations on subway cars and street corners to cafés, libraries, and public squares, language shapes how we connect with one another.
Through poetry, stories, theatre, philosophy, and song lyrics performed in their original languages, WORLD PLAY creates a space where voices from around the world are heard, shared, and celebrated. Over its first year, the series has featured more than 40 languages.
Chapter 8: Blindness invites audiences to continue this journey.
