Simja Dujov is a composer, musician, and DJ based in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Blending Latin Cumbia, Balkan and Jewish music with electric energy, Simja’s high-octane shows transform clubs and theatres into roiling dancehalls of celebration and revelry. Dubbed the ‘Jewish Manu Chao’ by the international press, Simja’s music embodies an authentic synthesis of his roots and environment. Simja has traveled around the world with his music, performing and teaching at festivals and events in France, Canada, U.S., Brazil, Chile, Germany, Belgium, Spain, and Mexico. He has also worked as a musical producer and curator of cultural festivals, and has participated in movie, theater, dance and radio productions. His musical and cultural productions focus on developing Jewish identity in a contemporary world. As a genre defying cross-cultural musician, Simja Dujov pushes the limits of Contemporary World Beat.

Co-presented by the Koffler Centre of the Arts as part of the
2014 Ashkenaz Festival | August 26 to September 1, 2014
