A rebellious activist in the 1960s, then an accomplished artist, passionate collector, and respected curator in Toronto, Flavio Belli is an unusually dynamic figure in the cultural community, challenging boundaries that often exist between artistic and administrative practices, and between independent and organizational activities.

This TLN Studios original documentary biopic (2024; 60 min.; colour; dir. Mauro Abballe) captures Flavio preparing for his solo exhibition of photography. Artists and others who know him are interviewed, and we get a glimpse of his remarkable art collection that he has assembled over decades.

The film screening is followed by a moderated conversation and Q&A with artist Flavio Belli, director Mauro Abballe, and Agatha Pezzi, Head of TLN Studios.

There will be a lively reception with Flavio, Mauro and TLN representatives on the Mezzanine, after the screenings. Free light refreshments will be available, as well as a selection of beverages for sale.
