Music Performance: Rudy Ray & Jared Higgins

The first of three drop-in, artist-led activations features Rudy Ray on trumpet and Jared Higgins on guitar. Together, they bring Afro-jazz, hip-hop, and soul into the gallery, blending live instrumentation with the exhibition space.

Rudy Ray is a Ghanaian-Canadian trumpeter, bandleader, and multidisciplinary artist, and the founder of Rudy Ray & Co. Known for blending Afro-jazz, hip-hop, and soul, he has performed across Canada and internationally, including festivals, concert stages, and community-driven productions. His work bridges music, storytelling, and cultural programming, creating spaces for connection, healing, and creative expression.

Local Toronto musician and multi-instrumentalist Jared Higgins has been working, gigging, and recording with several local artists since graduating from Humber College of Music in 2016. He can be found playing with acts such as Trombone Charlotte, The Tap Room Gang, Viper's Cloud, Rudy Ray, Tak Arikushi, The Sonny Balcones, as well as other projects in the works.
