On Thursday, June 4, 2009, at one of six distinguished tables, in one of six fabulous private homes, patrons of the Koffler Centre of the Arts celebrated an extraordinary evening of courses and discourses.

Engaged by world class cultural luminaries Margaret Atwood, Theodore Bikel, Edward Burtynsky, Norman Jewison, Bruce Mau and John Ralston Saul, guests were fêted by leading chefs from across Canada under the direction of Michael Stadtländer. Chefs included Chris Aerni (The Rossmount Inn, St. Andrews, New Brunswick), Jeremy Charles (Atlantica Restaurant, Portugal Cove-St. Philip’s, Newfoundland), Ashley Farnell (Personal Chef, Toronto, Ontario), Ross Fraser (Fraser Cafe, Ottawa, Ontario), Ray Lovell (Master Chef, Nunavut), Scott Pohorelic (River Café, Prince Island Park, Calgary, Alberta), Rose Reisman (Cookbook author and health & lifestyle expert) and Michael Stadtländer (Eigensinn Farm, Singhampton, Ontario).
Fine wines, champagne and dessert wines for the evening were generously presented to all the homes by Todd Halpern, Halpern Enterprises and Recanati Wines of Israel.
The event was an enormous success. Guests arrived at their selected home at 7 PM for cocktails, and spent the evening chatting, dining and discussing. As the chefs each presented their fabulous creations, guests engaged with luminaries, discussing their involvement in arts and culture, how art increases the sense of our common humanity, and how together we can create a more civil and global society by fostering mutual understanding through the exploration of arts and culture.
All proceeds raised from ARTFUL DISH benefit the Koffler Centre of the Arts, its programs, classes and exhibitions.
