Open to all, the Helen and Stan Vine Canadian Jewish Book Awards celebrates excellence in contemporary Canadian writing that reflects Jewish themes and subjects. The awards ceremony is a moving and inspiring ode to the most valued form of expression of the Jewish people – books. Prizes are given in History, Fiction, Yiddish, Youth Literature, Holocaust Literature, Biography & Memoir, Scholarship on a Jewish Subject, and Jewish Thought & Culture. The awards ceremony is followed by a book signing.

This year’s ceremony features a special presentation to Howard Engel, a prize-winning author and the creator of the Benny Cooperman character, the beloved detective of 12 bestselling mystery novels.
