Pull up your cowboy boots and put on your best Western duds for an evening of entertainment in support of the Koffler Centre of the Arts with the irreverent, colourful and always entertaining Kinky Friedman. The self-proclaimed “Mark Twain of Texas,” Kinky has authored 29 books and twice run for Texas Governor, but he is still mostly known for what got him attention in the first place: as a wry, satirical country and western singer with a social conscience. Founder of Kinky Friedman & the Texas Jewboys, he has toured with Bob Dylan and performed with Eric Clapton.

Returning to Toronto for the first time in 20 years, Kinky will offer his unique blend of singing, wicked social commentary and political humour, while reading from his memoirs about growing up Jewish in Texas.

“They don’t make Jews like Kinky anymore.” – Peter C. Newman
