The 23rd annual Helen and Stan Vine Canadian Jewish Book Awards celebrating excellence in Canadian writing on Jewish themes and subjects. Books in a variety of genres including fiction, history, scholarship, and youth literature were recognized at the awards ceremony – this year at the beautiful Appel Salon.
The awards ceremony was hosted by award-winning and bestselling author, Michael Wex. Ceremony followed by a book signing with the authors. Winning books available for purchase at the book signing through Israel's Judaica.

A NOTE ON THE AWARD CATEGORIES OF THE HELEN & STAN VINE CANADIAN JEWISH BOOK AWARDS
Awards are given out annually and have included the following categories: Fiction; Scholarship; Biography / Memoir; History; Children’s / Young Adult Literature; Poetry; Holocaust-themed; Jewish Thought & Culture; and Yiddish (Translation from Yiddish, or Yiddish-themed). The prizes of the Canadian Jewish Book Awards are not fixed to a set number or set categories but are determined annually at the discretion of the Jury. For example, the categories of Poetry and Yiddish Literature have not been discontinued; however, no prizes will be awarded in these areas in 2011. Please refer to the call for submissions below for more information on the eligibility criteria that informs the Jury's decision making process.
