Brett Kingsbury's diverse musical career has seen him featured in both solo and chamber music performances and as a vocal coach and repetiteur. Brett is very active as a teacher and festival adjudicator across throughout Ontario. He is currently a faculty member at the Koffler Centre of the Arts, and on staff at both the Scarborough campus of the University of Toronto and Brock University.
Brett appeared in Bach's Concerto for Three Pianos BWV 1064 with the Koffler Centre Chamber Orchestra with fellow pianists Robert Silverman and Erika Crino, conducted by Jacques Israelievitch. Brett has been featured on CBC Radio Two's West Coast Performance in a live performance of Stravinsky's Concerto for Two Solo Pianos with pianist Erika Crino. Brett has been very involved in the world of opera working as a vocal coach and repetiteur with the Vancouver Opera Association, TrypTych Vocal Productions, Opera Lirica Italiana, Brampton Opera, and Opera Kitchener. During his extensive musical studies, Brett was the recipient of numerous scholarships and awards.
In 2002, he was named R. Howard Webster Fellow at Green College at the University of British Columbia. Brett received his Doctor of Musical Arts degree in 2006. He studied principally with Leslie Kinton at the Royal Conservatory of Music in Toronto and with Robert Silverman at UBC.
